In The Directory of Visually Impaired Services, the Low Vision Provider category is broken down into three sections: Low Vision Specialists, Pediatric Ophthalmologists, and Clinics. All of the doctors listed are located in Michigan and the names of the certified low vision doctors were provided by the Michigan Optometric Association-Low Vision Committee. To become a certified low vision doctor in Michigan, an optometrist must complete a peer review board process.

In the Pediatric Ophthalmologists section, the doctors' names were provided by the Michigan Pediatric Ophthalmology Society. We encourage parents to contact several doctors to best determine the child's particular needs since pediatric ophthalmologists specialize in different age groups and conditions.
